The Red & White decanter from the Bavarian glassworks Spiegelau with almost 500 years of tradition is a combination of craftsmanship and innovative, modern design. The thin blown walls of clear crystal are shaped in an unmistakable way.

The body of the decanter has a wide, flat, stable base, but the bottom is hollow inside. This allows the wine to sit comfortably inside the decanter over a larger surface area and beautifully oxygenate, exhale and release the full spectrum of aromas. Pour only enough wine into the decanter to allow the contrast with the glass inside the decanter to stand out. The convex bottom also allows you to grip the wine in style and pour it impressively from the decanter into the glasses. The slim neck of the decanter with its widening rim is seductively wrapped with a thin strip of glass and you experience an intense tactile sensation when you touch it. The process of decanting involves the transfer of wine from one container, i.e. the original bottle, into another container, i.e. a decanter or jug. Decanting can be carried out not only for red wines but also for white wines. Despite the opinion that decanting is only suitable for mature red wines, which are typically characterised by sediment at the bottom of the bottle, it is also important for young wines - for the so-called inhalation.

Decanting puts the wine in greater contact with oxygen, which brings out its individual flavour layers and aromas and makes the wine more delicate. In the decanter, the wine will also beautifully highlight its visual characteristics and you will engage all your senses in its enjoyment. Decant the wine approximately 15 minutes before serving.
