Juicy Salif juicer is one of the most famous products of Alessi. Its author is the famous French designer Philippe Starck. Juicy Salif is known worldwide and is part of the collections of many museums. As it happens with such products, it was created quite accidentally. Starck sent the product's design at the end of the 1980s from his holiday at the seaside. The sketch was drawn on a paper placemat from the pizzeria. Lunch proved to be very fruitful for the designer.
Juicy Salif reminds some of an octopus, others of a spider, but for all, it is a design icon, perhaps even controversial for some. It is made of polished aluminium and is not dishwasher safe.
